What are Session types?
Session types are a very important part of rotering, providing an unlimited way to design separate types of sessions.
They help ensure a rota contains the right balance of work and are the connection between rota output, service design and, demand & capacity management and, ultimately, population health management
Session types can have a number of useful attributes that connect them to other key parts of operational design, such as appointments.
Using session types
Following logical rules, eligible session types can be easily attributed to sessions in a rota and these can be saved within rota templates.
Once this connection is made, the rota output can be described in greater depth and linked to demand & capacity planning.
