Workforce
A hub workforce us comprised of staff users and can be a mix of many user types, such as GP, Nurse, HCA, Admin, Manager. It can also combine users with different employment relations to the hub:
- Employed / contracted – salaried & partner
- Self-employed
- External employer
An unlimited number fo external employers can be setup in a hub, each with its own pay rates table and the hub will auto generate employer rota assignment and spend reports monthly.

All staff accounts are simple network accounts to begin with and can opt to join hubs via their account (Hub Management)
When a staff user joins a hub, they join FROM the network, into the hub, by a process of requesting to join and being admitted in
(This process is by-passed by our workforce import process during a hub setup – for contracted staff)
A staff user can leave a hub too, from their account. They have a hub management section with all the hubs they have joined listed and some details of each and some options
By the same token, a hub manager can take 2 steps, regarding a staff user in their hub:
1. Disable the user in the hub
This keeps the user in the hub (unless the user leaves) but prevents the user being rostered or included into other things like a leave process
2. Disconnect the user
A disabled user can be disconnected. This removes them from the hub altogether – leaving them simply a network user (who may be joined to other hubs)
As an aside, a network user is still a locum user. Not joined to any hubs and able to make locum connections with practices on an ad-hoc basis and be booked directly for session work.
Disabling is a good approach for a hub, as it will mean that a users data is retained by the hub. If this is useful, particularly in the short term, it could be useful to disable someone first and let them leave the hub or disconnect them from the hub later.
A network user can also ask for their account to be deleted altogether – from the whole network. We do this on request.
